Welcome to House of Amal: a creative home for Muslim writers.

Our 12-month Writing Residency

Our digital Writing Residency is the foundation upon which House of Amal was created. Formerly known as “The Cohort”, this 12-month program provides Muslim writers (primarily poets) who aspire toward publishing (traditional/indie publishing as well as self-publishing) with craft tools and immersive writing knowledge to take their manuscript projects to the next level. Adding the lens of a faith-centered community, we have graduated 18 students, many of whom have gone on to publish their first collections and begin their own editing, consulting, and teaching projects.

Applications open in October 2026, with orientation taking place in December. Click “Learn More” to see our graduated residents, read through the program FAQ, and read more about our groundbreaking curriculum.
